Good morning.
Everyone thinks the Fed is going to cut rates today. They’re probably right.
Former “Pharma Bro”-turned-prisoner-turned-investor Martin Shkreli announced he’s shorting a meme stock. He might be right.
And StubHub IPOs today. People are saying it’s overvalued compared to competitors. We’ll find out if they’re right in a few hours.
Let’s begin.

How 433 Investors Unlocked 400X Return Potential
Institutional investors back startups to unlock outsized returns. Regular investors have to wait. But not anymore. Thanks to regulatory updates, some companies are doing things differently.
Take Revolut. In 2016, 433 regular people invested an average of $2,730. Today? They got a 400X buyout offer from the company, as Revolut’s valuation increased 89,900% in the same timeframe.
Founded by a former Zillow exec, Pacaso’s co-ownership tech reshapes the $1.3T vacation home market. They’ve earned $110M+ in gross profit to date, including 41% YoY growth in 2024 alone. They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.
The same institutional investors behind Uber, Venmo, and eBay backed Pacaso. And you can join them. But not for long. Pacaso’s investment opportunity ends September 18.

Market Headlines

Stocks slipped Tuesday ahead of the Fed’s big decision.
The big Fed rate decision is today. Interest rate traders place odds of a rate cut at 100% (below). Odds of a 25 bps cut are at 94%, and chances of a 50 bps cut are at 6%. Social media sentiment seems to be heavily in favor of rate cuts being positive for markets overall, either sending prices higher or turning into a small “sell the news” event (that then becomes a “buy the dip” event). These observations are purely anecdotal and represent what we’re seeing on social media; they aren’t professional advice or analysis.

Martin Shkreli has announced that he’s shorting Opendoor, which is up 440% this year; OPEN has already fallen 6% in premarket trading on the news. Shkreli’s call is getting a lot of attention because his -80% ATYR stock prediction just came true this Monday. NOTE: Shkreli is a pharma investor, and Opendoor is outside of his typical realm of expertise. Also, for a different take, Anthony Pompliano has been notoriously bullish on OPEN.
StubHub is set to IPO today, and the company’s sale of 34 million shares at $23.50 each earned it $800 million, bringing its total valuation to $8.8 billion. Some areas of potential concern:
StubHub’s market cap is now 50x that of competitor Vivid Seats ($8.8 billion vs $175 million)…
But StubHub’s revenue is only about twice that of Vivid Seats.
↪ That’s why X user BIGRYAN sees some potential issues with STUB, and thinks that it may rise quickly as an IPO today but then perform very poorly as a stock after that. This is not financial advice. Always do your own research.
Chip leader NOVA has entered a buy range, according to Investor’s Business Daily. The stock has shown incredible strength, growing ~49% this year, and the company itself has performed well on financials. Trader Scott Lehtonen’s buy range for NOVA is from $291.99 - $306.59 (current price: $302.18).
