After a nine-week winning streak to close out 2023, it looks like exhaustion may be setting in.
Key figures to watch out for this week:
- October construction spending today. Analysts forecast a 0.5% rise against 0.4% in September.
- November job openings Wednesday. Analysts forecast a slight increase over October.
- December jobs report Friday. Analysts estimate 150k, while Kalshi has it at around 175k. Unemployment is expected to tick up to 3.8%, while Kalshi is slightly lower at 3.7%.
Oil prices continued to rise as Iran sent a warship into the Red Sea.
Bitcoin topped $45k for the first time in two years.
While the likelihood of a Trump conviction rises, each of his major challengers has stepped in to say they would pardon him.
