And wow, what a difference a week makes. After calling for Intel's CEO to resign, the Trump administration is now reportedly looking to take a stake in the chipmaker. Intel shares shot up over 9% on the news.

📰 Market Headlines

US stocks mostly stalled on Thursday as a hot inflation report cooled the recent rally.
The S&P 500 eked out a third-straight record close, while the Dow and Nasdaq finished near the flatline.
🤔 Will $RDDT be included in the S&P 500? There’s a lot of chatter on Reddit about… Reddit ($RDDT). Users are impressed with the company’s growing average revenue per user, according to AltIndex—and they’re speculating that $RDDT may be added to the S&P 500. On average, stocks see significant price gains when they’re added to the S&P (which dissipate over a 2 month period, according to McKinsey). $RDDT is up 68% over the past month.
💰 Warren Buffett’s company just bought $1.6 billion in UnitedHealth $UNH shares yesterday. Michael Burry bought, too. We’re honored to have made the same call as Berkshire Hathaway and Scion Asset Management! It will be interesting to see what Buffett’s vote of confidence does for the stock moving forward—$UNH rose 10% after hours on the news. Berkshire Hathaway bought 5 other stocks in key industries as well—and one makes it look like Buffett thinks rates will come down.
🇺🇸 The White House is reportedly considering taking a stake in Intel $INTC—just days after Trump called for Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan to resign. Intel shares rose 9% in extended trading as the rumor circulated. Earlier this week, the President had a meeting with Tan, which Trump said “was a very interesting one. [Tan’s] success and rise is an amazing story.” If the US government invests in Intel, it could be great for the company—but it raises concerns about the nationalization of public companies.
🎤 Can you invest in Taylor Swift? Should you? Swift just announced her 12th album on Travis Kelce’s podcast. And while you can’t invest in the pop start directly, her releases do still move real money. The Eras Tour alone generated over $2 billion in ticket sales and an estimated $10 billion in global economic impact.
Here’s where investors might look for a ripple effect (if you’re into pop culture investing):
Universal Music Group ($UMG) – Album distributor; recently filed for a US listing (currently trades in Amsterdam).
Live Nation ($LYV) – Ticket sales, merch, and sponsorships if a tour follows.
Spotify ($SPOT) – Likely to see streaming spikes with new album release.
Consumer discretionary ETFs – A broader play on concert-driven spending surges.
